Spreading Love and Comfort: Local Love Volunteers with Ronald McDonald House

In February 2024, the Local Love team from Orchid Realty International embraced the spirit of service by partnering with Ronald McDonald House of Southwest Florida, a haven for families with sick children. It was an enriching experience that allowed us to connect with our community on a deeper level.

A Day of Service and Compassion

Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) provides a “home away from home” for families so they can stay close to their hospitalized child at little or no cost. These homes offer a supportive environment where families can find comfort and care during difficult times.

Our team had the opportunity to contribute to their Family Meal Program, which ensures that families have access to nutritious and home-cooked meals. The program is crucial because it allows parents to focus on their child’s recovery without worrying about daily meals.

Preparing and Sharing Homemade Meals

In collaboration with the Ronald McDonald House, we rolled up our sleeves and got to work in the kitchen. The day was filled with laughter, teamwork, and the delicious aroma of home-cooked meals. We prepared a variety of dishes, from hearty casseroles to fresh salads and baked goods, ensuring there was something for everyone to enjoy.

The highlight of the day was sharing these meals with the families. It was a reminder of how a simple act of kindness, like sharing a meal, can provide comfort and warmth to those going through challenging times.
